La Fondation Blachère accueille l’exposition inédite Kuvhunura : l’Ecole d’Harare – un mouvement à nul autre pareil, du 17 octobre 2024 au 8 mars 2025 dans son centre d’art à Bonnieux, et présente 22 artistes figures de la scène contemporaine du Zimbabwe, sélectionnés par les curatrices Georgina Maxim, Valérie Kabov. Alors que, pendant des décennies, la sculpture sur pierre a modelé et incarné la douceur de l’identité créative du pays, la peinture est longtemps est restée un courant sous-jacent. Cette exposition présente l’incarnation créative et l’engagement artistique de la nouvelle jeune génération de peintres du pays durant ces 15 dernieres années.
Kuvhunura / Kupinda ne wenje mudziva traduit du Shona signifie: “la mue, le renouveau : entrer dans le lac avec une bougie” et représente l’esprit de cette nouvelle génération d’artistes prêts à repousser les limites du médium et à perpétuer le riche héritage artistique du pays.
The Blachère Foundation is hosting the exclusive exhibition Kuvhunura: the Harare School – a one-of-a-kind movement, from October 17, 2024, to March 8, 2025 at its art center in Bonnieux, showcasing 22 prominent artists from Zimbabwe’s contemporary art scene curated by Georgina Maxim and Valérie Kabov. While stone sculpture has long shaped the creative identity of the country, painting has remained a subtle current. This exhibition highlights the creative embodiment and artistic commitment of the new young generation of painters from the country over the past 15 years.
Kuvhunura / Kupinda ne wenje mudziva, translated from Shona, means « the shedding, the renewal: entering the lake with a candle, » symbolizing the spirit of this new generation of artists ready to push the boundaries of the medium and uphold the country’s rich artistic heritage.
